The CM-1UTP TWISTED PAIR WIRE ADAPTOR FOR CM-1 or CM-2 The CM-1 UTP is an adaptor that is used with the CM-1 or CM-2 CAMERA MASTER meter to measure the video levels on twisted pair wire installations. The adaptor conveniently mounts to the two BNC connectors on the top of the CM-1 or CM-2 CAMERA MASTER METER. It can be used to verify the proper operation of the twisted pair senders and receivers in any CCTV video system. Measure the loss through in any twisted pair device to design the CCTV system for optimum operation at the least expense. This adaptor can be used to determine the best twisted pair senders and receivers to use at each location on the site. The 5 way binding posts make wire connection simple. Also the unit has a switchable twisted pair termination built in so that video measurements can be made high impedance “BRIDGING”. The unit can be placed at the end of the wire in the “TERMINATED” mode to simulate a twisted pair receiver in place. It can also be used to determine the location and measure severity of low frequency video loss that can occur on the twisted pair. Low frequency video loss can cause picture rolling when the level is to low, if the level is to high it will cause DIGITAL VIDEO RECORDER malfunction. The location and severity of high frequency loss can also be measured. High frequency loss in twisted pair will result in the loss of picture definition and can cause the video monitor to switch to black and white. If the video high frequency level is to high it can cause color saturation and distortion of the video picture. This can be seen as an extremely grainy picture with color flaring. For long twisted pair runs the CM-1 UTP can be used to verify proper selection and adjustment of the active twisted pair senders in the system. Proper selection of senders and receivers for long wire runs will ensure trouble free operation of the CCTV system. An instruction book comes with each unit detailing the use and methods of measurement for twisted pair installations. Instructions for connection and use of the adaptor are printed on the back side of the unit.
