FM SYSTEMS, INC. NEW FMR679A RECEIVES A.T.I.S. SATELLITE IDENTIFICATION SIGNALS
The FMR679A ATIS Receiver Demodulator decodes the FM
subcarrier transmissions that identify satellite up-link transmitters using the Automatic Transmitter Identification System (ATIS). The Call Sign, Phone Number, Identification Code, and Optional Data can all be received and demodulated into base-band audio. The FMR679A contains a built-in 7.1MHz or 8.3MHz subcarrier demodulator to receive the ATIS transmission
When connected to a satellite receiver that is tuned to the selected transponder and with the satellite antenna directed to the selected satellite, the ATIS message is output from the audio connector. When no ATIS signal is being received a squelch will shut off the audio output to prevent noise. If both the 7.1MHz and 8.3MHz units are mounted in one rack you can daisy-chain the input composite video and subcarrier to monitor both frequencies at the same time. Only one of the subcarriers will be on at any time on any one transponder.
